About Us
Charity means kindness, generosity, and consideration
and is the foundation of
The Shared Table.
Our People
Shared Table started with a small group of women living in Mount Macedon with a desire to build strong community relationships through friendships, empathy, and caring about others.
It has now evolved into a larger group of passionate, like-minded women sharing the same beliefs. Shared Table was successfully registered as a charity in October 2015.
Our Purpose
To provide help and assistance for individuals, families or small groups who are in immediate need and cannot access any other channels of support or funding.
Who we support
Quite often there are children who sometimes miss out on the basics or activities that make a difference in their lives; or it’s families who require additional support and fall through the cracks of normal financial assistance. As a small organisation we are perfectly set up to respond to these situations, promptly, while maintaining confidentiality.
How we raise money
We run successful fund-raising events through the diverse talents of our volunteers together with generous support and donations from local businesses and individuals. Each year we welcome thousands of visitors to Viewfield’s open garden which has become a highlight of the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival calendar.
Examples of the types of support we have provided are:
· Purchasing or sourcing linen, basic furniture, food, as required, in the event of a family needing to set up a new house due to family break up, domestic violence, housing insecurity or natural disasters such as fire or storms.
· Paying registration fees for extra-curricular activities, tutoring or lessons that local families may not be able to afford for their children due to individual circumstances.
· Purchasing winter clothing, bedding or uniforms that may be needed.
· Paying Girl Guide/Scout fees for a child whose family could not afford for her to attend and a result became a Queen’s Guide.
· Shared Table makes monthly contributions to local food banks to enable them to purchase food for those in need.
· Involvement in and support of the new Macedon and Mount Macedon Community House.

If you know of any individuals or families that need additional support please get in contact with us. We are extremely respectful of everyone’s situation and do our utmost to protect the privacy of those involved.
